Hello All,
I recently have received some paper money from my father. This money is to go to my kids. I am not going to list all that I have but some of the money includes the 1969 * (replacement) 20.00 bills ( I have probably 8-9 of them), 1973 * (replacement) 1.00 bills (probably have 15 or so) and so on.
I am thinking about selling what I have (if it is worth it) and buying some RRSP's for the kids. I am not a collector however am looking for some guidance from you folks on how I should handle this money?
Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi TD,
The first thing that you want to do is get your notes valued. The authority for this is the Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Government Paper Money, of which most of us have copies.
If you like, you can either post the list of serial numbers here, or you can send me a PM with the list and I will get back to you as soon as I can with detailed pricing.
Of course, the condition that a note is in will greatly affect its value. In my response to your PM, I will include several levels of pricing for various grades.
Hope that helps,
Brent

I'll take a look into these when I get home. Just at a glance though, none appear to be particularly unique. The *F/F 1954 $1 seems to be an error - Could you please recheck the serial number on that one?
Please PM me with the other notes you want help with, and I'll gladly price those too :-)

Hi TDAB
Welcome to the forum.
If you have some real nice notes, Why not keep at least 1 of the replacements for the grandkids. It is sort of something from their grand parents.
That is what I did for my daughter that was given by my father. She is only 3 and it will be for her only

Thanks Polarbear.
At present I am trying to see if there is any value to these. I would, however, keep a couple for keepsakes for the kids. The rest I was thinking on liquidating and putting the money in an investment for them (if there was enough to invest).
