I have a 10 dollar bill that was printed in 2007. There is no magnetic stripe where the magnetic stripe is suppose to be it is only a white stripe. The bill is real i checked all other security features. And under the black light. I was wondering if this is a error bill and if anyone can give me more info on this bill. The serial numbers start with BTN. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Yes this could be considered an error if the note has not been tampered with. What do I mean by that? it is believed that the holographic security strip can be removed from the note, thus creating a false error note, but I have not seen a note that someone has removed the strip from personally.
In my collection I have two similar notes missing the holographic security strip, but they are $20’s. All the other security features are also present in on my notes as well. The condition of the note will greatly determine the value of the note.
If you would like to meet, I would be glad to look at the note for you.
Cheers

It does not look like the note has been tampered with. It is in fairly good condition. I can try and post a picture of the note tonight if that helps.

I find this highly suspect, because if the note was printed without the stripe in the first place, then there would probably not be ink missing, because the ink is applied after the stripe is applied, which makes this note seem like as if the stripe was removed after it was printed, taking the ink with it.
Just my 2 pennies worth.

I have no clue. I am just trying to find out some info on the bill. I found the bill in my till tonight and have never seen something like this. At first i thought it was a fake and inspected it further. It is a legit bill. Doesn't run when wet, under black lamp it glows pink and yellow ect...Just no strip.

I'm with platyfish124 on this one. The edges of the blank area do not look like they should when the strip is missing, and there would be some intaglio printing in the blank area, most notably a "10" and the coat of arms.
This note, in my opinion based on the photo provided, has been tampered with and the strip removed after reaching circulation.
(The strip may even have found a new home attached to a counterfeit note).

Here is the one I got in my change. I know the strip in this note was removed after.
I had to cover the note with paper because of my scanner.

that this is defiantly a note that would have to be viewed in person to make a firm conclusion

[edit]Post removed as its contents could be used to fabricate "errors". Sorry, d_polo.[/edit]

Say is this the same note or a different one?
item# 260313135015 at you-know-where.
A ten dollar note BTJ 5363672, these type of error seem to be popping up more often. You could still see part of the top left "5" counter and a bit of the COA.
