Title: what r they worth
Post by: money hungry on October 19, 2008, 04:16:51 pm
My girlfriend and i found some old bills and were wondering what they could be worth. We have no idea about old currency.
we have a dollar bill C/I2576846 and one P/Y4120592, from 1954 , We also have two, one dollar bills from 1967 one has G/P5046484 and the other just has the date 1867-1967. We also have a two dollar bill from 1954 M/G 5566287 and a five, same year F/S8011823.
We also found some one dollar bills from 1973 ECL314770 to ECL314779
and ECL3147791 to ECL3147800. WE are just wondering are the worth anything. The 1954 bills are in fairly good condition and the 1973 are in mint condition

If you could provide how many folds there are or any other imperfections like nicks, tears, dings, soft or rounded corners, pinholes, staple marks, pen or pencil marks.... You know what? It'll just be easier if you just provide a photo. I can tell you right off the bat that the 1973 $1s aren't worth anything, no matter what anyone else says... though you describe a consecutive set as being from ECL 314770 to ECL 314779... Is that a typo or do the notes really have 6 digits in the serial number?

No that was just a type-o. Sorry got ahead of myself. We don't have the right type of scanner to post pics. What do you suggest we do?

None of the serial numbers are rare and in circulated condition they would be worth about double the face value. Maybe they would make good stocking stuffers for a child.

they don't look like they are in circulated condition. They look some what worn from age, afew corners are bent other then that they are in pretty good condition. What about the centennial dollar bill 1867-1967? anyone?

The Centennial dollar is worth $3 or less if it is in perfect condition. There was over 30 Million printed of which many were kept hoping that one they would be worth something in the future.

The other notes are worth about face value possibly double face if you find the right person.
