Hi,
I'm not familiar with Shinplaster notes. I would like to know exactly how much is this note worth?

What you have there is not a shinplaster but a $5 chartered note. Shinplasters or denominational currency have a face value of $0.25 and in Canada where issues by the Dominion Of Canada.
This is a 1935 Canadian Bank of Commerce $5 and in very nice condition. I would estimate the grade at VF+ and the price at $150 to $180. I do not have the price guide handy but I can contact you again tonight for more accurate values.
Cheers

Book value for a VF is $120 and for a EF is $240
Are you interested in selling this note?

Hi Kid_kc79,
Thank you for taking your time for the research. Are you referring to current market price of $240 for VF condition??? I only have the Charlton Catalogue......therefore I can not find it in the book. Perhaps, I can get it graded so I can get 25~30% more.
Thank you,
Jarod

Sorry I corrected my typo, it was suppose to say $240 for an EF and these are book values.
I do not think that getting this note graded will result in more money!
