I am having enormous difficulty finding a 1954 $1 *N/Y replacement note (BC-37bA) in Choice UNC.
I spoke to all the paper money dealers at Torex and none could help me. Many were looking for the note themselves.
Does anybody know why this note with a catalogue value of $150 is so elusive ? Is it underpriced in the catalogue, and if so, does anyone know trends for this note ?
I would like to hear from anyone who has one or more for sale.
Thanks

That is a fairly tough note in UNC to find, I myself finally found one way out east last year after looking for about 6 months, & paid way over catalogue to get it. I talked to many dealers about it, & most of them wished me the best of luck, as they hadn't seen any UNC's for some time. I'II keep my eyes open in Edmonton this weekend. :) Good luck

This is one note that I believe is under valued it has the same amount printed as I/O and D/O all having (80,000) printed but is worth $150 in unc. while D/O is $200 and I/O is $375.
It seems to me that the N/Y is seen as rarely as the I/O and the D/O is seen more often.
It could be seen more often if the value was to go up,that may be what collectors are waiting for to part with them.
I think they should be valued about $250 - $300 in unc, this is one of those notes that can be purchased above book now and be a good deal when the next catalogue comes out.
