Title: German Banknote
Post by: gendis on April 02, 2010, 10:53:20 am
I have acquired a German 5 mark note - 8 Januar 1970 - with the prefix Z.

My catalogue indicates that this is a replacment note.

Is there anyone out there who has sufficient knowledge of German banknotes to confirm that this is replacement note and its approximate value in VF.

The full serial number is Z 3152413 A

Thanking you in advance for whatever help you can provide.

Your note is probably Rosenberg 269b although the date should be 2.1.1970. The prefix Z makes it a replacement note. Rosenberg catalog value is 1000 Euro for UNC and 200 for VF/F.
