I know that in the catalogue it says the number 4567890 is a ladder but I would not buy it as such. I think it should be removed from the catalogue.
What do you think is 4567890 a ladder number?

I agree with you. To me in order to have 4567890 be a ladder, bank notes would require 8 digits and would read 45678910 but it lacks eye appeal.
Maybe these could be added as they are all the possible permutations.

3456789
4567890
5678901
6789012
7890123
8901234
9012345
If anybody has any of the "non conforming" ladder notes listed above in Unc+ for the Journey series, i would be interested ;D

Sorry guys, I have to disagree. Serial number digits range from 0 - 9, so I'm, OK with 4567890 or the possible permutations of.....

The first 5 and not first 4 are ladder notes. The following 5 are what i described as "Non Conforming which are simply the other permutations.

What do you think is 4567890 a ladder number?
I never noticed this or paid much attention to it, but I personally would agree with you....I would not consider this a ladder nor would I buy or collect one with this particular number

I'm in full agreement with both you MG & GarY_T that 4567890 should not be considered a ladder note and it never will be in my collection as such, that's why I only implied the first four. I'm OK with 0123456 but a 0 after a 9 just doesn't make a 10 in my eyes.
While typing this I see Friedsquid can be added to the list also

There is no 10 in a laddar serial number. Once you reach 9, the pattern repeats. What about 0987654, is it a laddar?

As before, I don't see this number appealing to the eye.......it seems like there is something missing...again it would not be on my list of desired notes or ladders...

I agree with your statement. The 0 ruins it, but funny how this particular number "0987654" is used as example in charlton for descending ladder notes. In my opinion a 0 is Zero and not 10. Perhaps it should be better defined what is a "true" Ladder note because then one could just say look heres a ladder numbered note ex. AOH9101112 or AAC1211109... 9 10 11 12 its ascending!

I have a note, HOT 1415161, and I call it a "lazy ladder". I kept it merely because it goes nicely with a set of notes in my possession. I'm not deluded into thinking it's actually worth much of anything.

I have personally found these to be interesting. Basically everything starts with the center digit, first one increasing by two's then by 3. No luck yet in finding any :'(
