Talk about deja vu (http://www.cdnpapermoney.com/forum/index.php?topic=11335.0)...

Due to a mishap with the domain registration for CdnPaperMoney.com, a number of users may have had difficulty reaching the Canadian Paper Money Forums today.

The underlying issues have been resolved and access to the forums should be restored for all users within the next few hours if not already.

PS: If anyone wants to help chip in with the admittedly overpriced cost of the domain renewal, please let me know.

I am planning on changing registrars to one that is considerably cheaper but immediate circumstances required a renewal at the higher price.

Running this site is not free, so assistance from others is always appreciated. Thanks!

With traffic being much lower on this site compared to even just a couple of years ago, it makes sense to search for a hosting plan that fits the site's requirements.  That makes a lot more sense than paying an exorbitant amount for service that's not even required and asking for donations at the same time.

Mark, you mis-read my post. Our hosting is already dirt cheap. My own personal hosting, and that of several other major numismatic websites are using the same provider at very economical rates.

But I'm not talking about hosting. I'm talking about the domain name. It which was registered at a higher-than-market rate due to immediate needs that otherwise would have seen this site be out of commission for up to three months, and would have risked the domain name being acquired by a third party and thus lost to us entirely.

As I said above, I am working on reducing future costs. That said, neither the hosting nor the domain are free.

Hi Brent, I hope you got my small donation today.
I hope other find this site as useful as I do, and can find a few extra dollars in their pocket to help cover the admin cost. The CPMF is a great resource tool.
