Title: Big B small B $10
Post by: rarenote on December 18, 2004, 02:20:21 pm
With the recent discussion about the $2 big/small B I thought I would show some $10 notes with this anomilly. Notice the right and left B's are different in size. I did at one time have about 200 notes without this difference, well mixed numbers between all the numbers on the notes I have. All these have the same front and back plate numbers.

I have only ever talked to one collector that has another of these. Just wondered if anyone else has seen them.

Here is a regular note.

PS: I have tried all I know to upload these pics to be veiwed but no luck, is there a trick I dont know?

Hi,
How many of the 10$ with large ''B'' exist or reported???This is the 10$ reported:
    BDD6094542
    BDD6234730
    BDD6414666
    BDD6414854   (Claude collection)
    BDD9994721
This is the 10$ I know who do not have large ''B'':
    BDD3425147
    BDD6351851 (Claude collection)
    BDD6351860
If you check it, you see the BDD6234730 have a large ''B'' but the BDD6351851 dont have large''B'' and the BDD6414666 have large''B''.I think the variety of the large and small ''B'' was maybe the same error like 2$ 1986,one press have the small ''B'' at the both side and other press have large ''B'' at the right side and the small at the left side.I apreciate if the poeple have BDD prefix  let information if they have small ''B'' or large ''B'' with the serial number on this site.I contact  the Charlton catalogue(Bob Graham) to put this variety in the next catalogue. He tolds me he want to publish the scan in the September
issue of the CPMS Newsletter, and see if there are any more like this, and
whether any other prefixes are involved. After we have more information we
can decide about the 19th edition of the catalogue.
I have a 10$ with large ''B'' in AU grade(BDD6414854 it came from Martin)My last question :What is the value of this variety????All information you have will be apreciate!!!!
                      Thanks

Hi,
Thank you Henry to report your discovery,I apreciate it and the serial number is a little bit over than the higher large''B''BDD6414854 a difference of 663,814 to be at your banknote.I think the range finish near of your BDD,but when this range start and finish????And they have another large ''B'' found at BDD9994721,when this range start and finish????Last week I saw on e-bay a 10$ with the prefix BDD1255307 with two small ''B''.Other information will be apreciate!!!
