Just picked up a bundle of new 100 notes from the bank. They were directly from the BOC. However when going through the notes I noticed that they were not all in sequential order and some notes even missing. I thought all notes released from the BOC were in sequential order. Is this common to see or not?
For example the EKL6707899 to EKL6707858, missing 2 notes; sequential again for 20 notes then a mixture of 6707*** notes to complete the bundle.
I did find a UNC EKL6708076 Radar!

Very common with the polymer notes. Always missing notes in between (i.e. very hard to get 100 consecutive notes), bundles don't start with 00 and end 99 at the end of the SN either.
I wonder if it's because there was a high spoilage rate in the earlier runs?

It's because CBN printed the notes. They mix their reams when printing/cutting etc.

I doubt it.

My brick of $50s today were all sequentially numbered

Yep, never mind, I had a brain fart when I posted that.
The bundles of $50s I saw today were perfect- all consecutive and not missing any notes.
