Hi, does anybody have an idea when we might start seeing twenty-dollar insert prefixes and ranges in the serial data bank. 8)

I'm not aware that the printers are obligated to make replacement notes. There's certainly no quota system as replacements are only meant to replace defective notes and sheets, so if there are no printing problems, there are not going to be replacements.
Twenty dollar Journey series notes printed by BAI are notoriously stingy for replacements. That means either the printers were doing a near-perfect job printing $20 notes or, by some strange coincidence, brick hunters were not finding inserts. Twenty dollar bricks are more expensive than $5 and $10 bricks, and when people searching them can't find anything collectible, they might stop requesting $20 bricks, thereby reinforcing the notion that there are no $20 inserts to find. That may be carrying forward into the Polymer series. There could be very good reasons why there are no $20 inserts to find... the $20 bill is the most common denomination in circulation, and the price of printing polymer notes is much higher than paper notes, so the Bank of Canada may be demanding that the printers make far fewer mistakes. That could be why they ordered BAI to make the inventory that is going to take the place of the Journey notes currently in circulation, even though this company is scheduled to be phased out of the note production business altogether in the near future. Early evidence of data collected from polymer $20 notes suggests different numbering practices are being used, and with that, we could see a change in how many replacement notes turn up.
The $20 note also has a reputation of being less desirable to collectors, going all the way back to the Birds series. That's yet one more reason for brick hunters to snub the denomination and focus on all the other denominations.
