Title: What is this 1976 Olympic piece?

This can't be a coin because it has no denomination, so there's no mention of it being part of the 1976 Montreal Olympics coin sets...

What is its composition, and how was it sold/distributed?

It's a replica of the 1976 Olympic Medals.
