Title: Fake 1917 $1 Dominion of Canada??
Post by: CurrencyCollector on March 21, 2013, 09:27:29 pm
Hey guys first post,
I was at a coin show couple weeks ago and purchased a handful of bills from a dealer, he gave me the "supposed fake" for free.
A couple things I find suspicious about the bill, the serial number is much different then the real note above (reffering to the picture). Left signature looks as if it was written with a marker, and top right corner tear was replaced with paper and coloured.

I'm relativley new to collecting bills so any input is appreciated.

It is either fake or was poorly touched up (after someone possibly tried to wash it [hint... look at the left signature]). My guess is the latter. btw I know the dealer that you got it from
