Title: Royal Bank of Canada notes?

I recently purchased a Royal Bank of Canada (Montreal) 10$ note... I was skeptical of buying it as I could not find any reliable sources of what it was worth... am I missing something?

Yes, you're missing a catalogue of chartered bank notes.  Chartered banks used to issue their own currency prior to the 1940s.
