Title: 1948 German 1 Mark note
Post by: walktothewater on July 09, 2014, 08:31:23 am
I have an opportunity to buy a 1948 1 Mark note that has VX prefix & believe is EF+/fairly uncommon.
I'm traveling & have no rreference books.
Does anyone who collects German notes have an opinion if this note is rare/collectible?

Thanks in advance!

Banknotes in denominations of 1 mark 1948 was in both Western and Eastern Germany.
 About what you ask?
In any case, the banknote 1 mark is not rare for Western and Eastern Germany, and very often in offers to buy.
 Sincerely, Norum

Hi Norum,
The 1 Mark note (with prefix V over X) was from DDR (from East Germany) & offered at a coin shop while I visited Leipzig.  They wanted 100 Euro but I think I could have talked him down.  He said it was quite rare but just wanted to check.
Thanks
