Title: British American Bank Note Company Ad Sheet

Very interesting piece............

Arched title with "Capital $200,000" under it, Beautiful intaglio printed design in black with green underprint and border, printed on India paper, views of Queen Victoria, the Earl of Dufferin, (on the $2 1878 Banknote), the Marquis of Lorne, (on the $4 1882 Banknote), Cherubs, allegorical figures, St. George slaying the Dragon as well as proofs of a 3 cent Canada Postage stamp and a $3 Canada Bill stamp on the upper left and right corners.

Gary Lyon has one in his auction later this month, only it's brown.  He says the outer frame measures 326 x 208 mm.

Bob, are you referring to Eastern Auctions October 23-24th Sale ?

Do you know the lot number ?

Here is another British American Bank Note Company Ad Sheet in black and green on India measuring 208 x 130mm and showing Victoria Widow Weed, Jacques Cartier and other vignettes, engine-turned scrolls, value tablets and more.  I think this was printed earlier than the previous one I posted.

It's lot 267, described as a proof sample sheet on india paper, and estimated at a mere $7,500+!

Do you know the date of that sale ?  The last time I saw a "red version" of that particular ad sheet sell was on November 14th, 2011 and it sold for USD $ 800.

Thanks for catching my error, the Archives International sale you mentioned in 2011 was the last sale of the "red" note.
I looked up the green/black version in error, which sold for $3400 + commission.
Commissions of 18% seem high, but if the perceived results are higher....
