Title: Bank Of Canada $10 from 50's - question re Prefix
Post by: johnnycanuck on February 24, 2017, 11:35:04 am
I'm a newbie and have just been given an old $10 that I believe is from the fifties. I doubt it's of any significant value, but as part of trying to understand how to "read" Canadian paper money I've found web references to Prefixes and noticed 2 other designations but not the A/T prefix I see on my bill. Is there some kind of "standard" catalogue that would tell me it is a known Prefix or is that kind of info all in the heads of collectors and dealers?

A/T is a common prefix from the late 1950s. If it is in circulated condition it would be worth $10-$15.

The Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Government Paper Money is the reference for all the info you need about prefixes and values (and pretty much everything else you would ever want to know!)
