Title: value
Post by: indian on December 16, 2018, 03:40:49 pm

I have 3 1973 $1 bills in uncirculated condition with AB PREFIX AND CONSECUTIVE SERIAL NUMBERS. A friend told me to check on here as the AB prefix might be worth a good dollar. Any help would be appreciated

First off: welcome to the forum!  ;D
- a scan or picture of the front or back of the note would really help here-

The $1.00 notes were all hoarded so their book value are a bit of let down. UNC AB notes might go for around $3.00 each.  Generally, with such common notes (10,000,000 were printed) a consecutive run of 3 is inconsequential (many bundles of 100 are up for sale) and doesn't hold any premium (in fact buyers may expect a discount).

Unless they have an astrick (*) before the AB, they are worth 3x face value; if you can find someone willing to pay that.  Its good to see people are checking first instead of taking them to the bank.  I think this post would have been more approperiate under the "what its worth" thread.
