Title: Question about Position Numbers...

I am working on a series of online guides covering Canadian government issued banknotes. One section of each guide shows the location of the plate or position numbers on each issue.

I just learned of the change in 1986 from using plate numbers to position numbers and I have a newbie question about the orientation of the position numbers.

Are they numbered top to bottom on each column (A) or left to right (B) as shown in the attached image?
And are the back position numbers mirrored as shown below so that the same position number appears on the front and back of each note?

Once you educate me I'll be producing graphics which explain this...
