Title: Eastern Townships Bank
Post by: AL-Bob on August 26, 2019, 10:40:17 pm
This is probably another one for Bob.  I'm just wondering if the following note was previously known in any registry.  It is the partially engraved date 1859 $2.  The Charlton Catalogue, 9th edition only lists 2 known with one in an institutional collection.  The issue/variety is only priced in Good.

What a wonderful surprise this is!  Even though repaired, it is a huge improvement over what was previously known in private hands.  The "Good" note in Charlton is actually really bad.  Is it coming up for sale?

An American dealer picked it up for me at the ANA show.  I'm afraid it won't be for sale any time soon.
