Title: $5 note out of register printing?? help
Post by: bambam20 on April 07, 2005, 04:14:57 am
Hi I found this note today at work. You will notice from the pic the face, the #5 and the left portion is misplaced by about half a centemetre. Is this note worth any premium? Is this considered an Out of Register printing error? any ideas? The Serial Number is HNN0631832

Thank you/

You are correct.  It would be considered an error note. I don't know what it would be valued at though, especially seeing as it is well circulated.

I had an UNC same sheet pair of $10's just like this $5. I beleive they sold for about $35 each. Your note would be worth at least 15.00 to an error collector.

I will gladly pay $15 for it, if it is for sale.

The error is not the #5 on the left being mis-placed but it is the all of the dark print shifted over to the left, so much that you can see the white area in front of his face and the words BANK OF CANADA all most off the note.

I think even in this condition it would be worth much more than $15.

I think Tom would know how much this would sell for, but my guess would be $40-$70.
