Title: Question about insets
Post by: copperpete on April 16, 2005, 12:37:12 pm
I have a question about the inserts notes.

Can someone can tell me what is the approximate ratio of bricks containing inserts notes relative to the total of bricks?  is there 1 out of 5 which contain inserts?  1 of 10?  or even less? ???

I believe  that there is a big difference in this ratio depending of the printer (BABN printed notes seems to have less inserts than CBN ones).

I have a question also. Today I picked up 6 bundles $5 HOM, and they have a plain white band, and are sequential to about 50 then jump to another sequential 50 400-500 digits apart in all of the bundles. Some bundles having the continuation of the middle of another. Has someone already pilfered my bundles? Or is this some kind of bank thing?

The digits are all within 3000

This is common among the recont prefixes.  I am trying to figure out some logical order for this, but to no avail.  If the banding is from the BOC, I would lean towards that they were not pilfered.  If they have any marking of a bank, such as a stamp on the band, then they have been handled before.

There is some interesting stuff about this in some of the insert posts, FEP Hi Low for sure, and some of the other recent $5 High Lows.
