Greetings from Budapest!

If any of you are in the Hungarian capital, do stop by the visitor centre of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, which has extensive interactive displays of the history of both coins and notes from Hungary and around the world.

They have a large display of world bank notes, including many polymer notes, and specimen $5 and $50 notes from the BoC Birds series.  My favourite display was of the notes of Hungary, especially of the hyperinflation of 1945.  Notes were issued in 50 pengö  denominations at the start of the year, and were issued in trillions by the end!

Take your kids, too.  They will love the interactive quiz.  If you pass the quiz, your prize is your own Hungarian (no value) bank note with your own picture on it!
