I recently bought a 1954 $5 Devil's face that was 1-2 mm smaller in both length and width. I didn't find any obvious signs of trimming.
Would a note that is smaller than 6 by 2.75 inches always be suspected as being trimmed? I find that most notes are exactly 2.75 inches wide, but many are longer than 6 inches...so my take is that 1 or 2 millimetres less shouldn't affect the value of a note.
Any comments? :-/
