Title: 1991 $20 colour error.
Post by: sudzee on May 14, 2006, 08:08:53 am
I have seen at least one other like this. If any members have a similar note please post the serial number. The yellow/gold on the back of the note matches the yellow on on the front.

I don't mean to stir up any controversy here, but check carefully that this note has not been chemically altered.  I seem to remember that the green ink used on US currency is made from a blue and a yellow pigment, and it is possible to dissolve the blue with a chemical and leave the yellow behind, and vise versa.  Perhaps this is what happened here?  :-?

If this note were chemically altered, they did a nice "screening job" to prevent the background green from turning yellow!
