Also note that it is only the first of a two-part series. (It may be drawn out to three parts, but there is definitely enough for two.)

My only question is why did it take so long for this information to get out?

My guess is that after 50 years some government material is declassified and then becomes available to the public in an access to information request.

It's even more exciting for me because I'm already working on the December issue of the newsletter. ;)

Because I am not at liberty to discuss it ;)
Seriously, guys... If you think the first part of Esler's article is interesting, the second one will tickle you too.

All this suspense just makes me all..... tickley! ;D

That page only has two old articles from the CPMS newsletter/journal. It does not have any recent material.

Well folks... The time you've all been waiting for is near!

No, it's not Christmas quite yet, but I've got the next best thing!

The December 2006 CPMS Newsletter has been sent to the printers and should be mailed out later this week. It is jam packed with material including the second part in Graham Esler's series about 1954 Series Asterisk Notes, a nice error note, something about a note withdrawn from some auction in September, something else about a note appearing in some other auction in October, another note registry from the bank of whatever, some company issued a draft a long time ago for some reason so it got an article, and..... oh yeah, something about legal mumbo jumbo. Did I mention the asterisk notes? ;D There's lots more in there too! (I know, I put it all together!!!)

(This is fun! I feel like Santa Claus bringing gifts of numismatic knowledge to all the collectors around the world, yet I can do it in my own mildly sadistic way by telling you all absolutely nothing while making your mouths water as you check your mailboxes twelve times a day... I would do this monthly, except the novelty would likely wear off)

PS: Annual dues are due! Mail in your money to Thingy Dunn (the secretary and dues collector) as soon as possible so that we don't forget you when the March newsletter gets mailed.

Enjoy!
