Title: Re: $2 denominations

The last $2 note issued by Canadian was in 1996 but not printed and release until 1999. I believe there is not much demand for the $2 and hence no need for them to issue them regularly like all other denominations. In my opinion i believe we will eventually see the $2 fade out like we did with the 3¢ back 10 years ago. At this point, yes Canadian tire is still issuing $2, but just not on a regular basis.

Wow!  I never even knew that there was ever a three cent CT note! :o

If anyone on the forum ever has one, could you please post a scan, just to see what it looks like? ::)

Thanks!  Jonathan  ;)

There are several 3¢ issues... 1961, 1972 50th Anniversary, 1973, 1976 mtl olympics (my favorite) and 1991. These 3¢ notes are blue i have at least one of every year issued. I will try and post a scan tomorrow morning of the 1991 3¢ (final).

Getting back to $2 CTC coupons,  at the store they are not used very often.  The 5 cent and 10 cent are the most commonly used.  However at the gas bar with a multiplier,  giving you say $2.40 back in CTC coupons,  they are very commonly used.  So I feel that the $2 coupon will not dissappear as long as CTC has the gas bars.  Just my opinion. I got $3 back with my 10x multiplier the other day and got all $1s.  I haven't gotten a $2 note yet and I've been buying gas at CTC for about a year and a half now.

BWJM - Tell me how do you get a 10x multiplier.  Usually they come out twice a year on a Canada wide CTC promo. Stinger.

There is a Sobeys store opening up nearby and they were handing out 10x coupons.  I grabbed a fistful on Sunday and passed them out to friends and family, and even a couple other people getting gas that day. ;D

The last time I saw them was when the Sobeys thing all started and 10x coupons were actually printed in the Sobeys flyer.

Being a Western boy we do not have sobeys stores here so maybe we are missing something.  The stores in our location do not use multipliers, it is a straight 5 times Canadian Tire money for any purchase.

For any of you Eastern boys who come out West, it will not pay you to use a multiplier because most of the time it works out to less than what you would get without it.

You referred earlier to $2. notes, one gas bar here uses them a lot because the average purchase is well over 20 liters.  It is possible to get all five series in the course of a month.  Of course the condition will vary greatly.
