Title: Dumb Question II
Post by: hanmer on July 24, 2007, 07:52:11 pm
Is this a replacement note?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=280135394683&rd=1&rd=1

If so, then why?

:)

Yep. If you go to this link:

it says it is a confirmed insert range (in your case EVZ 8766000 - 9846000).

For other insert ranges, find the prefix and if the number lies within the confirmed insert range:

Ok

Didn't put together the name there and here.

Did any other denomination of the Birds series use insert replacement notes instead of X notes? Thought x notes were stopped with Birds, and then insert replacements began with the Journey series.

The newer type of replacement notes ( aka inserts ) that are found in the Journey series got their start in the late 90's in the Bird series. All denominations in the Bird series had them with the exception of the $1000 note.
