Title: $1,000. 1954 radar (0175710)
Post by: rachelsprivates on August 09, 2007, 10:16:28 pm
For your "ultimate radar" collection, here is a piece currently up for sale on eBay:

1954 $1,000.  Bouey-Rasminsky  A/K 0175710

See picture below for grade.  Any guesses what this note is worth?  Consider that there are only 9 possible radars for this signature combination.

It's starting at $0.99 ...It's auction snipin' time! Well someone's going to pay a great premium for it.

wow!

...Extremely hard to find obviously, but I bet there aren't many radar collectors who will be able to fork over the $1000+ for this one.  Probably won't even go over $1100  ???. I'd love to have this note but it's just not worth tying up that much $$.

Why not try to snipe it at face value?

Go ahead and try, I won't give you any competition. It's still $1000 though, and face value is only meaningful if you intend to spend the note (what would be the point then??). I'd still much rather spend a 1k on a high grade 1935 or dominion note than a raggedy radar...  :-\

You're possibly right. With inflation and stuff, you might be losing money off it.

The auction ended and the reserve was met, selling for $1,299.99 US + 6% GST.

That was kind of an unremarkable finish for a remarkable note!  I guess it was too unique.

It was a stealava deal. :)
