Title: Fact or Fiction (or hallucination)?

I was speaking to a dealer at ONA who speculated that the *R/R $2 notes were used as replacements in the S/R test note series.  Plausible?  Could that mean that the *R/R notes are test notes too?

I could be possible, for they are tough, but we probably will never know for sure.

Very doubtfull!
If a replacement not was used for the S/R notes it would have been *S/R
a * was always denoted as replacement.

 JB105 you will have to reconcider your statement.Replacement notes of all types (asterick,letter X or inserts) were not put in there matching prefix.
 For instance the bird series $2 notes, all Bonin notes were replaced with either EBX or BRX and there are no Bonin EB or BR denomination letters.BRX would have been used as replacements in CBH,I,J,K.
 It's like modern inserts, finding an FED prefix in a FEB bundle.
 So if a replacement was used for S/R test notes they would not have to be *S/R.

Similarly this reasoning would suggest that *B/B (which were all Beattie Rasminsky notes) would have been reserved as replacements in the B/B block of notes which were way back in the Coyne Towers are.

Interesting. I didn't know that.   :-*

I thought the same as "JB105" for the 1954 notes.
