Out of curiosity what bank dispenser gives out $5.00 notes. Thanks

I think perhaps the machine that tellers use is what is meant, rather than an ATM.
Visit any TD Canada Trust (especially the former Canada Trust branches), and some Royal Bank branches to see such a device. These branches do not have cash trays with each teller - they all use a central cash dispenser.

I guess living in the boonies doesn't help.
The TD CANADA TRUST branch here still has individual teller tills.

it was only about 2 years ago that I could still get $5 from a bank of Montreal, here in Windsor, got some nice low numbers out of it. Went their to try my luck again about 6 monts ago, but it now only has $20. :'(
