Title: counterfeit detection

This has been a question on my mind for a while now. With all the safety measures in place to foil and detect counterfeits on recent notes how does one go about detecting counterfeits on old notes? The notes I am referring to are mostly 1935 and 1937 Bank of Canada as well as Dominion and Chartered notes. I am aware of a few counterfeit chartered and Dominion where the printing had decreased the detail quality on the note. Are there a lot of suspected counterfeits out there for these early notes?

One of the best authenticity verification means remains to be intaglio printing, and intricate and precise detail. These are rarely matched by counterfeits.
