Title: 5$ dimensions

Hi all,

On the resource page of this website, it is written that the dimension of all canadian bank notes (except 1935+1937) should be:
152.4 by 69.85 millimetres (6.0 by 2.75inches).

Can someone confirm this ?

I have seen a 5$ bank note which is shorter by about 2mm (like 150.0 x 69.85) - I assume this is enough to conclude it is a counterfeit one ?

It is dated 2002 and I know there are 2 versions of the "canadian journey" 5$. Unfortunately I could not compare with any other notes of the same year but I don't think there should be a difference in the dimensions at all between the 2 versions, right ?

I don't know that 2mm would be enough to confirm a counterfeit.  There are other common indicators such as an inappropriate serial number prefix.  A scan would certainly help.

More precision: the size is actually 148.5 x 68.5 mm
I don't think shrinkage is a common thing to happen on an official note so it's got to be a fake !?

There's a few things you have to check to make sure you have a fake note.

About the 2mm thing, it may have been cut that way from the start.
For what I've seen, fakes tend to be a bit larger than legal notes, and I assume it is because it helps to reproduce the micro-printings.

But a picture or scan would help for sure.
