Although asterisk and X-suffix notes were prepared specifically for use as replacement notes it seems likely that not all such notes were actually required for replacement purposes. It is conceivable therefore that some or all of these "excess" or "remainder" notes could have been released into circulation en masse just like regular non-replacement notes. This hypothesis might explain why we sometimes see long runs of consecutive Asterisk and X-Replacement notes. I have attached for illustration purposes an image showing 9 consecutive *B/B asterisk notes (including a Radar). Does anyone possess any consecutive runs of more than 9 Asterisk or X-Replacement notes?

I currently have a consecutive run of fourteen (14) *X/F replacement notes. This was originally a sequence
of 18 notes but I sold 4 to other collectors over the years.

Very nice indeed! I once had a run of about 20 consecutive $10 ADX notes (acquired from an ATM in 1993) but, like yourself, I sold some off over the years and now I only have 7 remaining from the original hoard.

I once saw a brick and a half of BBX notes. Something like 1200+ consec.
There was an article not too long ago in the CPMS newsletter that talked about "star makeup notes", using replacements to fill up short bricks etc...
This BBX occurrence sounds similar.
I also owned 20 consec ENX yellow, didn't keep any, they were common at the time.

I've pulled 29 consecutive AOV Journey replacements from an APC brick a little while back but it did make me wonder what the criteria is for the printer to decide that a given ream of notes should end up being a repacks of bricks rather than requiring to insert too many replacement sheets into a 'bad' ream.

There are 100 consecutive FNX $5 replacement notes on ebay.

Search 2 bricks yesterday and was lucky!!!
found 1 BTG8165342 in a brick of BTL6442000
and found my longest run of 80 consecutive replacements,
Brick APC6532000-999 found AOV5292328 to 407 replacing APC6532727 to 807. All FP94 BP60

About four years ago, I got a brick of 5$ notes: serial: HNN9257000-999. It was in the time where the CBN used a 500-notes skip. I found 430 replacements in this brick :o :o :o, split in two series, 500 notes apart: HNR9677029-244 and HNR9677529-744, so I got two series of 215 replacement each :o :o. They weren't replacing as much notes consecutively, but were dispersed more or less evenly across the entire brick...
I didn't kept all these notes...Too much money stalled for what they worth...Almost all of them were returned to the bank.

An amazing consecutive run of 34 uncirculated $20 EZI INSERT NOTES was recently dispensed to a collector at a cash machine here in Ottawa. The serial numbers spanned the range 9914005-9914038 inclusive as confirmed by the scans below.
When one encounters a mammoth consecutive run of inserts of this magnitude one probably has to redefine or elaborate upon the meaning of what an insert note really is. Perhaps a term such as "Block Insert" (the total antithesis of a Single Note Replacement) should be used to describe this sort of situation?
Any thoughts or comments??
