Title: JHS, JPH, J**
Post by: Martin on August 17, 2004, 10:56:07 pm
Do members think that we will see a J** for the $20 and the $50 to come this fall with the same number as the $5 and $100?
Also why didn't the latest Charlton catalogue mention those 2 notes? I know the $5 probably "escape" by mistake but the $100 JPH was shown at the release of the new journey $100 so their is no doubt that its real.
I think that they must have been a $10 journey with a prefixe J** but this one never made it to the public. They must have decided to show the $100 JPH2912607 after the $5 was seen on eBay and so they will probably present a $20 with the serial J**2912607 on the 25th and the same thing with the new $50.
Any comments...

BTW do you think that the J in those prefixes is for Journey ??

Hello Detonate,

The latest Charlton Catalogue does mention briefly about the two known experimental notes. They do state the serial number JHS, JPH, both with serial number 2912607. It's on page 292 - titled under "Experimental Notes".

Yes quite possible that the j stands for journey. The serial number itself is perhaps just a dummie serial number.

Oops  :-[ thanks coinsplus for pointing it to me. I guess I looked a little to fast.

Would be interresting to find out if it was also done for the  Peacekeeping note.

Probably too late now to find that out.

I was wondering if this was actually a test note that was issued or just a computer creation used in the design process.

I would say the latter.  there are lots of images in the book with that particular serial number.
