Title: 1954 Signature Error Note
Post by: gonkman on July 16, 2009, 04:30:07 pm

Hello..

I was wondering if anyone could give an opinion on this note.  Are the signatures "off" enough on this note to be considered a signature error?

I know it is only about 5-6mm Shift upwards but it significantly noticeable.  I also realize it is not a Huge error but still an error.

Any thoughts?  Or Possible Values?  Note is Approx in Fine-VFine Condition.

Thanks!

In my opinion, this is technically an error, but I would consider it minor. Especially considering the grade, I would not assign a significant premium to it. The note without the error is only worth face value. A $10 premium is about as generous as I would go.

I would say that is about accurate as well, from what I have seen for error notes.

Still a keeper, that's for sure!

Thanks for the replies..  Appreciate the responses.

I realize it's not a huge error.. but you don't see them that often.  I didn't pay much for the note ($2-3).

Still a "Keeper" though. :)

Yes it is a keeper, may not be the best condition but still an interesting note with the signatures the way they are.  I would hang on to it if it was mine, it is nice to have something like that to compare to the normal ones and show other collectors about such an error!  Good Eye!!
