Just reading this post and I received today this HAE banknote at the local grocery store.  I do agree that the HAx prefixes are hard to find but you never know when they do pop up.  If anyone wants this circulated banknote for their prefix collection, please let me know.

Enjoy, Whitenite

Thanks to everyone who attended in support of show organizers and the dealers, making it a very successful and fun event.  Aisles were crowded for most of the day with lots of volunteers helping out with various tasks.

Be sure to mark Saturday March 14, 2026 on your calendar for next year.
This is a recent change due to a conflict with another event taking place the week before.

The interesting thing about this question is that last (ending prefixes) of upgraded Journey series & the first prefixes of the Frontier polymer series have both the PM & current governor of the Bank of Canada.  I believe that to have both a PM & acting governor on a Canadian note may be a first. And it gets interesting because for Macklem Carney (M-C) notes:
* for the Upgraded CDN Journey only 3 denominations have the signature combo ($5.00, $20.00 & $50.00)
* Upgraded $5.00 were actively culled so that all 7 prefixes HAE - HAL are tough & still sought after
* 2004 M-C $20 had just 10 prefixes & both the first AUT & last BID were short releases
* 2004 M-C $50 had just 3 prefixes AHN, AHP & AHR with both first & last short ranges reported.

+ 2013 Frontier polymer, the HBG Macklem Carney $5.00 release was delayed by over a year. A few were spotted initially & it was assumed they would be rare but then a huge amount were released out west & they trickled into regular circulation. It was tough to get them UNC. The rest of the denominations had more regular releases but the last Macklem Carney FTH $10, BSW $20, AMK $50 & EKZ $100 all have become exceptionally difficult to attain (with the M-C signature).

If it follows the well established pattern the next prefixes will be IOA to IOZ, then IPA, IAA, IBA, ICA. This pattern has been used since the Birds notes.

I keep seeing “prop money” that looks way too real for sale on eBay. Single $50 or $100 polymer notes selling for 3$-6$ each + shipping. At that price the only purpose for buying would be to defraud someone in the future would be my guess.

Totally agree Archey80.  I see ads for "Replicas" all over the net for any country in the world as though putting the word "Replica" in the ad makes them not good enough to pass off as real.  What I find interesting is the denomination of the fakes in this report -- going as low as $10 notes?? that no one suspects of being of high enough value to be as profitable to include in a counterfeit scam. Like the fake toonie. Now I'm wondering if the $10 notes seized were vertical Desmonds or the old MacDonalds as the security strip is different for vertical as opposed to the horizontals.  Have often thought that if they can't be stopped for counterfeiting, perhaps they could be as the result of copyright/trademark infringement? LOL  Like getting Al Cappone for tax evasion instead of bootlegging.  It is not possible to post ads for certain brands on FB marketplace as the algorithm will delete the ad, and suspend your account for this reason .... like Gucci, Versace, St. Laurent, etc. Don't know why Ebay cant do the same.

Cheers, B

Looks like the HB* series are starting to vanish and partially HC* series as I have been tracking my entry of $5 notes into the SNDB and I see the IN* prefix are starting to take over like you mentioned above. I heard that the next prefix will be IO* according to a member of this forum.
I don't remember the last time I ever saw a $5 HB* prefix in my region.  I see mostly mid-HC through about INJ. sam's post about INT could be a sign that the Rogers-Macklem $5 notes could be on the horizon in Newfoundland.

I’m from Atlantic Canada, and I haven’t yet seen any INV prefix notes. INT is starting to become quite common, but INU and up I have not spotted. I will be posting them to the SNDB when I find them.

I also noticed you reported a $100 HJB prefix to the SNDB (current low at this point) - early in February.  Is HJB starting to become common in your location now? If so, I bet HJD will be next, if it hasn't yet.  I find it is typical for Atlantic Canada to see three new prefixes max per year for each high-demand denomination (all except the tens). March/April, August, and December are typical periods when new banknotes appear in Atlantic Canada, it seems.  It's possible that HJB started appearing in Atlantic Canada prior to Christmas, and maybe you'll start seeing HJD now or maybe August, and another in December (either the Rogers-Macklem signatures, or maybe the currently elusive HJG).

Also, what is the latest $20 prefix found in your location lately?
