I've got a 1954 Canadian $20.

I can't see the picture well enough to know if it's a devils head for sure, but I suspect that it is a Modified note.

It's in VF condition, bordering on EF, as there are no sharp creases anywhere, but about 4 counting folds. (I think that's what these are?)  There is no soiling or discolouration that I can detect, an dthe edges are in remarkable good condition with no tears at all.

Serial number is G/E 5138615, and the signatures are Beattie/Coyne.  This is not a replacement bill.

How much might this bill be worth, and how do I find a collector in Winnipeg?

Cheers,

Rob

Hello Rob, and welcome to the forum.

Re: G/E 5138615

What you have there is a 1954 Modified series note. The Devil’s Face $20 stopped being produced at approximately E/E 2523271 according to the Charlton Guide.

Here are some photo links showing what a Devil's face looks like on a note.

According to the Charlton Catalogue 22nd ed., the value in VF would be $30, but in the current market, you would be lucky to get a dollar or two over face value, as there is plenty of uncirculated ones to go around. If it has no sentimental value to you, or you need the money, I would not hesitate to much to spend it.

Hope this helps.
