ARW 2008/2009 Changeover

ARW 2009 notes have been spotted.

Please report to this thread the printing dates of all ARW $20 notes.

The SNDB will be updated when a confirmed changeover is available. Until then, I would like to display a suspected changeover point.

Here is what the ARW unconfirmed changeover looks like in the SNDB today. This changeover value is arbitrarily chosen based on reported data and could change as reports come in. The changeover will flip to confirmed as soon as confirmed information is available.

The Bank of Canada has today confirmed that the ARW printing date changeover is as follows:

• Last $20 note printed by BAI marked "PRINTED IN 2008": ARW 1174999
• First $20 note printed by BAI marked "PRINTED IN 2009": ARW 1175000

The SNDB has been updated with this newly confirmed changeover.

The Bank of Canada has today confirmed that the ARW printing date changeover is as follows:

• Last $20 note printed by BAI marked "PRINTED IN 2008": ARW 1174999
• First $20 note printed by BAI marked "PRINTED IN 2009": ARW 1175000

Interesting....  ARW 1175000 is the changeover point. That means that the ARW 2373449 should have been printed in 2009 and not 2008 as shown above?

Should be, yes, and the SNDB reflects this. That said, the note you call out was not confirmed with a scan. That's one of the prime reasons I have recently added the request for scans on all new highs and lows. Mind you, in this case it would not have made a difference because I initially used 5.0M as the potential changeover and dropped it to 3.0M with the next find. In the absence of any data to the contrary, that was the best I could have done.
