Do some people have their own stamp to mark bills they have entered into the database?  I see from time to time different stamps and was just curious as to where the stamps are from.  For example, today I have one with J$T inside a circle.

The people who hang out at Where's Willy are pretty heavy stampers.  I have always been a handwriter myself.  :)

Stamps are often seen on US currency and it's my understanding that the stamp is like a "chop-mark" on older silver coins and purports to guarantee its authenticity.  One would expect however that it's much easier to counterfeit a stamp than a bill - so who knows.

I would hate to see a better note - radar, ladder, error - mistreated by the where's willys of this world.
