$20 Canadian Bank Note with Misprint

I have a $20 bill dated 1991 that has the 20 on the reverse right hand side that has printed on the front of the bill in reverse. Has anyone seen one like this before? Any idea what it might be worth?

A picture or scan would definitely help.  There are two possibilities.  One is a misprinted bill, the other is ink transfer from another bill.  A misprinted bill would be worth more.

If you are interested in collecting Canadian Paper money I suggest you head over to your local book store (chapters, indigo etc) and pickup the most recent copy of the Charlton Standard Catalogue for Canadian Government Paper Money 23rd 2011 Edition.

That being said your note would be considered an Offset/Wet Ink Transfer error (E3 in the Catalogue) in Uncirculated condition you are looking at around $100. Your note, would be less because it was circulated and quite a few security planchets on the top left face of the note have been removed. It would really be hard to grade your note based on the photos provided.

Maybe another member can lend their grading expertise to this topic.

I also have this same error but on a Knight / Thiessen AWM and if anyone missed it just like deb0854’s note it has more than the obvious “20” in the corner it also has a backward design of the very tiny “20”s around the right serial number too. I couldn’t find anything in my Charlton Catalogue that said anything about a note with a transfer on both sides of the same note, all it said was “Offset, face or back”.(But my book's kind of old.) So does that make it a little more special having it on both sides? I was also wondering if an error is on a changeover like this one does that put more importance on it?
