Hi everyone,

I just came across this site and im lovin what I see here with the wealth of info here.

I've been trying to do research on some of the notes I have and I can't seem to find any info on one of my 1954 replacement notes.
It's nothing special to my knowledge, but I just like to know about each of my notes.

it's a 1954, Lawson/Bauey.  Serial = V/G8069710
only reason I ask is I cannot find any info on a V/G Serial.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

I don't see a * (replacement) listed for La-Bo V/G. The only one I found is a non-replacement:

BC-38d La-Bo V/G $2

Can you provide a scan?

Thanks for the quick reply.

This may be my mistake, or just general lack of info on my behalf, but this note does not have the "Devils Face" on it, so I assumed it was a replacement.

I have attached the scans of the note...

You seem to be confusing the term "replacement note" with "modified note".   Yes, the Devil's Face notes were "replaced" with a "modified" version a few years after their first issue.  The whole series is known as the "1954 modified" issue.  The term "replacement" refers to notes printed and issued for the purpose of replacing notes spoiled during production.

Replacement 1954 notes have a "*" before the serial number, which your note doesn't have.  That makes your note a modified note, but not a replacement note.
