Hi

In the charlton Guide these $50's from 2004 and 2006 are quite a lot scarcer....

Is it stupid to hold on to a few ef-au bills hoping they may appreciate in value?  :-\

The 2004 issue printed just over 2.2 million....compared to the other issues of that year which were upwards of 80 million.

...would it be fair to say that that price will stay the same or would it go up with the introduction of the new series....

I just wanted to absolutely make sure i wasnt making a bad call, before i brought them to the bank!  ;D

Thanks so much

Honestly, if they were UNC or better yes they'd be great to hold onto and will go up in value. As for your notes in EF/AU they probably won't increase much. This is the same story for almost all the 50's. The only significant increase over face value on 50's (1975-Date) in those grades have occured only on the replacement notes.
