Do most here just collect the old fashioned way,or do many of you use currency collection software ?
Just wondering,as I am new at this,and was looking at some of the software available,can anyone tell me what they use if any,or anyone have any recomendations ?
Liberty Street software is one that I have been looking at,anyone use it ?

Good question. I too have been looking for a better way to keep track of my notes. This pen and paper stuff is for the birds. (and I don't mean the series)

I just use Excel. But any spreadsheet software would do I think. Then you can categorize notes by any number of factors: Grade, Signature, Series, Plate number, market value... and then quickly sort them sort them to display them however you would like. You could even produce graphs of their performance over time, etc etc...

I don't know what these specialized collection software would have to offer that would be any better...

iCollect is very good.  It was written by John Cebasek and released in 2004.  It's an easy way to manage your collection and sort it by note series, serial number, condition, current value, etc.  It also allows you to import scans of your notes.  Best of all, it's free!  

I'm not sure where to get it from now.  The download link was posted here in this forum several years ago and the thread seems to have disappeared.

Oh yes, it's only available for Mac OS X.

I have messed around with Currency Manage 2005

Good program but does not use Charlton Catalog Numbers. I Started to change the Database to correct it but it was WAY to big a task. If anyone HAS a Charlton Database for it I would say it is the perfect program.  

I prefer my own proprietary database-driven website for managing my collection.
