Change to journey insert ranges

I have been thinking that I would like to see a change made in the range(s) of journey inserts to better accurately describe the true range.
For example lets look at SNR BC-62bA 5.845M - 5.846M   QTY 1000
This range actually contains 1001 notes.

To have 1000 notes the true range would need to be 5.845M - 5.845999 or 5.845001 - 5.846M

I assume the true range is actually 5.845M - 5.845999 but I can't be sure as I can not find the info in the book.  If so, if I were to have the note 5846000 I would assume this is an insert note based on todays book info when in fact it would not be.

Thoughts???

You are absolutely right, Tim.  I have never liked the shorthand notation and have always been wary of the fact that it is misleading.  Not sure why this shorthand notation for insert ranges has been prevalent for so long.  However, the overlap of insert and non-insert ranges is one note, and I don't think anyone has been ripped off as a result of confusion.

I'd be more inclined to believe it to be the other - that the numbering goes from 0001 to 0000 rather than from 0000 to 9999. That is the way that bricks are numbered after all. But I really don't know...does anybody? Has anyone actually found a 0000 insert note in a brick?

But I do agree that some explanation would be in order since it is impossible to tell exactly what is meant under the current notation.  I think that the current notation could stay, as long as an explanation is made in the front of the book that the range starts at either 0000 or 0001, whichever it is.
