The following note is not uncirculated but it has obvious defects that do not appear to have influenced the overall grade, similar to the note above.

I actually bought this note because there are only 4 in my census and 2 of those are in the Bank of Canada museum collection.
The VF20 (tears,holes,writing) grade is obviously not a net grade. Using the standard international grading system (net grading), this note should be graded several grades below VF, in my opinion. Even if you ignore the faults and just look at the paper quality (folds, wrinkles), it would barely be VF.
What confuses me is that BCS is supposedly using the Canadian standard grading system which I believe to be net?
