Out of register?

Was wondering if this note is considered out of register, the bar at the bottom of the note is larger than normal and as a result there are 3 green dots visible at that area which are not usually there. Shown in the pics attached with arrows pointing to the dots....

The three areas that are pointed to I would consider as ink smears. I have examined many notes like that and they are actually fairly common.

I am not sure if they would be considered out of register. Generally if something is showing on bottom of notes that is otherwise not seen commonly then it is coming from the top of another note on the same sheet and below it. So if these things were actually an out of register issue it would be something that would be commonly seen on top of other notes.

 I do understand that for it to be a sure thing for a note to be out of register that there would be some part of another note appearing on the note in question.   I also look at other notes to see if those dots were visible on the top of another note (and I can't see them either). Okay so the journey series notes would have to be cut enough out of registry to have Canada start to appear..

 I am wondering also if this note on the cutting sheet was located at the bottom of the sheet and would that make those dots not part of a note located below start to appear but what the bottom of a full sheet would have on it? Would the FPN 67 and BPN 88 give a location of this note on a full sheet?

 I am note looking for money error notes if you are wondering (although it would be cool) I am curious about flaws i see.

This is very common
When you go through bricks you will often find this type of difference
For instance, even within a bundle if you check say the first note and then the 99th note many times you will see a shift if you put them side by side.
Personally I think t is a spender and of no collectable value

I have a similar interest and I have been meaning to see if there is enough interest to create a database of such images for general knowledge. There are lots of nuances when it comes to bank note designs and over the last several years a new association has been created for bank note design. Registration issues are very important part of design and I am also intrigued by them. In fact one can have lot more fun with registration issues in polymer notes.

You are asking some interesting questions and I don't know all the answers but the kind of difference that you are seeing would be considered acceptable (and perhaps common).

In one of BOC's own images of the following note: BEU 0000000 ($10 journey note with security strip) that is shown on page 109 of "the art and design of Canadian Bank Notes" you will see that the right edge as seen from the front of the note is cut in such a way that it almost comes to the edge of the text area that says "the library of the parliament". Until I saw this image I would have thought that any note with this type of registration would be abnormal. Seeing such a thing in BOC publication on bank note design makes one think otherwise.

WOW ....You have great eye sight . I would have never spotted those 3 dots in the lower margin. I guess that old age is finally taking it's toll on my vision .

The pictures are gigantic...Any chance of resizing them?

 I already have reduced the size of the pics by 50% both ways, this weekend I can reduce them more and maybe crop them just to show the bottom of the note. My camera takes very large pics (that I can reduce) but I figure the bigger pic shows more detail for other members.
