Any suggestion of value or grade, as well as the Charlton Number for this note?

Thanks

Hmmm.  Has this one 'stumped' our experts?  I'd also like to hear about this note as I can't find it in my Charlton.  :o

You won't find chartered banknotes in the Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Government Bank Notes.  You need the specialized Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Bank Notes which covers all Canadian chartered bank notes.

This note is catalogued as 715-24-04 and is a 1937 $5 note from the Bank of Toronto, Henwood variety (for the signature of the General Manager).  I won't comment on the grade other than to say it looks nice.  Value in my outdated catalogue is $200 in VF, and it goes up from there.

You can also find it right here:

Grade looks EF.

I expressed my opinion on CCF since KelownaGuy (a.k.a. Starbucksmapguy on CCF) posted the same $5 note/question over there on April 15th. He has a habit of posting a thread & then ghosting (not coming back to his thread) so I didn't bother to repeat myself here.

I feel it has too many folds, evidence of handling to reach an EF plus there appears to be pinholes in the middle. Did they hand cut these back then?  It also looks trimmed (to me) but yes, definitely a clean looking Chartered $5.00 with lovely eye appeal (if you don't mind the corners/edges seeming to be off)!  I would want to compare it with another just to be sure.
