Self Check out machine -would not take new 'ANNIV. $10s)

Tried to use the new special 150 anniv. year $10s in the self check out machine and they would not work at our local Save on Foods.
Clerk had to exchange them for older 10s for it to work.
It was either a CDA or CDB prefix that I tried.

Has anyone else had problems using these new 10s in the self check out machines?

They probably didn't bother to update the software as it's just a limited issue and an ever-dropping amount of people use cash to pay.  At all Provigo (Loblaw co.) stores that I've seen, they removed the cash accepter/dispenser on the self check-out lanes.

Even Dollarama now takes Apple Pay.

I liked using the self checkout lanes for a few items and being able to get cash back, now they're just for the Yuppies who don't know what real money is!

You will have better luck at getting a slot machine at one of the OLG Casinos to take your cash.  Unlike the 2015 limited series, these new notes are radically different and probably not worth the effort of updating the bill acceptors for.

TD ATMs (the ones with the bill acceptor that counts all the bills) also wouldn't accept the new $10s for deposit. 

However, CIBC's ATMs with the deposit counter did accept the new $10s without problem. Put 200 of them back out into the wild.

I believe the bill counting machines behind the counters of TD and BMO are the same.  One teller told me that the new notes aren't accepted by the machines and so far I have not seen 1 teller (at either bank)  actually put the new notes back into their machines (they always slide them in a drawer or deposit directly to the back vault room).

It appears TD ATMs have been updated to accept the new $10 bill. 

I also found a Scotia ATM in downtown Toronto dispensing the commemorative $10s - the only group of ATMs I know that still has $10 bills now, since HSBC got rid of them from their ATMs.

I found out very quickly during my recent visit to Grand River Raceway that the Slots won't take the new $10s and subsequently my search for new prefixes, highs and lows was restricted to the current series.

Perhaps in another month or so they may be updated or not given the small run and very noticeable differences between the Frontier and Canada 150 $10.

I've found all cash-accepting deposit ATMs I use have been upgraded to take the new $10s so far (CIBC, TD, BMO and National Bank).

However, in-branch, TD and RBC still apparently have not updated their teller safes to take the new $10s.

If these notes were loaded as they came in bundles you might have had a nice radar CDD 6411146 in that pack of 100 notes.
