Oops. After rounding, my opinion is now worth nothing. 

Seth.. you're just going to have to have more to say and give us 0.05 or nothing at all.   

Before 1922 there were no nickles.  The 5 cent silver coins were referred to as "fish scales".
So bending the time space continuum had the penny been eliminated before 1922 the common penny saying would have morphed into:

"a fish scale for your thoughts"
"a fish scale saved is a fish scale earned"
"fish scales from heaven" 
etc etc
